Preplaned Components – Kitchen Doors

General:

Kiln Dried 6-8% moisture. No undershipment allowed. 5% overshipment okay. Guarantee 97% good pieces. Finger Jointed material not allowed.
Grade:

Following are not allowed at all. Checks, cracks, bark, wane, unsound or decayed wood, stain, or sticker marks. No end cracks are allowed.

Face:
Clear of all defects except for sound live knots, maximum 3mm diameter. Knot must be sound, smooth, and blend in color with wood color. No black knots allowed. Some small fleck and light mineral allowed if scattered.
Edges:
No knots allowed. Scattered fleck allowed. Brown heartwood is one edge.
Back:
Any amount of heartwood is allowed. Sound knots any color 10mm diameter are allowed. Knots cannot be on any edge. Unlimited fleck and mineral is allowed. No open defects or cracks.
Tolerances:

Thickness: -0mm, +1.5mm
Length: -0mm, +10mm
Width: -0mm, +3mm
Bending: Maximum 2.0mm per 775mm length 3.0mm per 1080 length

Machining: S2S (surfaced top and bottom) hit or miss. Small, unsurfaced areas are allowed as long as the piece still measures at least 23.5mm in thickness. Customer will surface material again in moulder, but needs material to be uniform thickness. Some slight tearing out from moulder knives and track marks from moulder feed wheels is acceptable, but no deep gouges or indentations are allowed and no "moulder sniping" (dips in the surface at the ends of the piece) is allowed.
Packaging:

Use substantial pallets, or skids, allowing minimum of 75mm space underneath for forklift handling. Place dimension on pallet to fill out to all four edges. Stack dimension with good face up. Mark each pallet with dimension size, and quantity..
1. Piece of cardboard must be placed on pallet before stacking dimensions.
2. Pallet to be wrapped in plastic, four sides and top.
3. Four corners of pallet to have cardboard corner protectors all the way from pallet up to top of package. Cardboard on all four sides would also be helpful.
4. Each pallet to have four straps, with corner protectors to prevent strap from denting top layer of dimension.
